Fit At 50 - Full Steam Ahead!

No better time to start then now!
Where has the time gone. I pause for reflection as the day approaches where I can say I am half a century old! Only 11 days left to relish in my 4th decade of living on this planet…..at least in this lifetime.
The purpose of this blog is not to lament the aging process but to focus on good healthy living and keeping as youthful in mind, body and soul as I approach the next half century of my life.
Who Am I?
For those of you who don’t know me I am a former ballet dancer as well as Broadway dancer. I spent 13 years of my life working for the American Ballet Theatre (under the direction of Baryshnikov) and the San Francisco Ballet (under the direction of Helgi Tommasson). How blessed am I, right? Dance in it’s Hay Day!
I fell into or rather stumbled upon a Broadway career that spanned a decade! What a rush and amazing time in my life. Rather a narcissitic time for me as I was really responsible for only myself. It was all about me for a good 22 to 23 years! I will elaborate more on my career in a future installment.
Natural Mom

Flash forward to now where I am the proud mother of two beautiful little girls. I was fortunate to have children in my 40’s! My first at 42 and my second at almost 46.
No fertility he
lp here…….I believe good clean living and of course compatibilty with my partner and probably some good genetics also played a part.
Frankly, I do believe my good clean living was probably 75% of it. I’ve always been somewhat of a health nut. I’ve gone from vegan, to vegetarian, to pescatarian to now a pseudo paleo life style. Everything in moderation. I do not drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or anything else, nor use drugs. I even shy away from any pharmaceuticals if I can find a suitable holistic alternative. Even taking an Advil is a big deal for me.
Don’t get me wrong as I believe that western medicine is great and serves a very important and necessary purpose but I feel as a society in general we are over medicated and look at treating symptoms rather then root causes.

I will be sharing tips on living a healthy lifestyle using fitness, diet and of course the power of positive thinking. My initial focus was catering to other women specifically at the same point in life as me but honestly I think what I have to share will help benefit women and men of all ages.
So game on……..until the next time!
